Carry On 03:57
CARRY ON Wish we couldn’t see, what we cannot be You mind runs from sin, but only cold cash wins You want to save this life; grab your pistols and your knives You’re going to fight a foe; that you cannot find Chorus But I only shed one black tear I don’t show the Devil my fears Step up to the plate and swing Knock that bad boy out of the ring Riding down the windy, Eastside road The grapevines line the highway and the moon steals the show I throttle this motorcycle like, it, can , fly Taken the corners at 99 Twisting and turning, this bike carries me on Corner after corner to the; break of dawn They say I’ll have to fight a foe that I’ll never find I just realized; I had to, look inside Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2014 ©

I KNOW I'M NOT MISTAKEN I know I'm not mistaken Of all the things misplaced Been goin' on awhile Goin' in and out of style Oh maybe we'll slow down Pick the pieces off the ground And the powers that may be Stop fightin' endlessly CHORUS Oh Yeah... Oh what a silly boy to sing this song about all this carryin' on And they say that this old country road May still carry us home There's no amount of waiting As the secrets get foretold What do you need to be happy To keep you satisfied My friends are my lost home A place to reconcile And this dusty path I wonder Keeps my eye trained on the prize Chorus So much beauty not wanting wasted Protects the secrets we all seek What do you need to be happy To keep you satisfied Saw a man's life get taken Hard to tell the hero from the thief And just as things seem broken Need to rise up and speak Chorus Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

LIKE A FIRE IN THE RAIN What's this darkness I've become What is this dream on the run How older do these walls need to age To grow a forest back from the grave CHORUS I will call you down I will call you down I will call you down I will call you down Like a Fire in the Rain Like a Fire in the Rain Like a Fire in the Rain What has happened in this age A rusty cage and a withering flame How much have I passed on by How much have I left behind Chorus Where have all the Heroes gone Why are all the lovers on the run How much wind does it take to carry this song Before the hands of time run dry Chorus I have the strength of a Giant I have the heart of a Lion Speak the wisdom of all of the ages My life is measured in song Chorus Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

Loose Gravel 03:11
LOOSE GRAVEL Loose gravel on the road And I forgot what I've been told And I'm just trying to get home Loose gravel on the road And I forgot what I've been told And I'm just trying to get home Excuse me if I've used you to find out whose who But don't try to make me normal, so you can feel cool How fast can I go without been unforgivin How many minutes, the ones that feel like days CHORUS Loose gravel on the road And I forgot what I've been told And I'm just trying to get home x2 What's that place Iv'e been , held a broken piece of me Hung there all day, wonderin' what to say Went down that dusty path, asked a question I'd forgot Sittin' in the sun, my shadow at my back Chorus Retraced those steps, so could be undone 6000 miles from nowhere, a place that I call home How fast can I go without been unforgivin How many minutes, the ones that feel like days Chorus x3 Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

LOVE IN A MINOR KEY Baby, I can only love you In a minor key That's the Devil inside of me Stay a little while Let me run away I've got somethings say I've got some things to do Stare a little longer At what that sign has to say Which way is harder Which way is farther Baby, I can only love you In a minor key With what's in front of me And I never ever want to make you cry And I can watch the sun slip away Maybe, I can still seize the day Oh Yes, Oh Yes Don't let me drift away Baby, I can only Love you In a minor key That's the Devil inside of me Hey Lady, Do you really love me Do you really care Do you really see me I wonder, what is means to be me What it means to be you The meaning of being alone And maybe, I'll have some time to think Leave my heart up with the stars My mind can wonder on Baby, I can only love you In a minor key With whats in front of me And please, dont ever see me cry And I can let the sun slip away And maybe we can still seize the day oh yea, oh yea Don't let me slip away Baby, I can only love you In a minor key That's the Devil inside of me Baby, I can only love you In a minor key That's this Devil inside of me And Baby, I can only love you In a minor key That's this Love inside of me Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

SOFT SWEET MELODY I see in the clouds a story Of a king and a queen and the glory And I see a tear in that man's eye Of a life he's live in lie He dreams of circuits and satellites Things that roar through the sky She dreams of soft sweet melodies Of the moon, the sea, and the night CHORUS Now you are a giant, larger than your worries Strong enough to journey Away from them Tell her mind is changing By the roving of her eye Her hair is like a raven Eyes as black as the night sky That soft sweet melody That warms me inside Depends on what your tied too Depends on what you've lied too Oh that sweet childhood innocence Of that innocence may turn to rust and those bones surely to dust Will you learn to fly to get a better view Tell a story that only you know is true Will you sing a song only you know the tune Alone is a solid stage Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

THERE'S A WINDOW There's a window, of time passing by Day by day, don't let it slip away My love is with you, through the ocean of our dreams Sail away, through the sea of the unknown Driftin', a boy and his thrown My love is with you, through the ocean of our dreams There's a lady, who is gentle and kind With wisdom, tough to unwind My love, is with you Through the ocean of our dreams Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

TUMBLEWEED Many mountains, many mountains I've climbed Crossed them in my head crossed them in my heart Crossed them in my soul CHORUS And the silent King, and the gracious Queen Don't let me roll away again Shine your light, spread your grace Like a tumbleweed, don't let me blow away Hey little darlin' Can I carry your pain Can I carry your pain So you can shine on through Teach us all how to love again, like that very first time Here comes the Springtime Push those winter blues away Push those winter blues away Push those winter blues away Look at all those bright peopl Lighting up the way Lighting up the way Hey little darlin' Can I carry your pain Can I carry your pain So you can shine on through Teach us all how to love again, like that very first time Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER When I was young I wanted to see Where I could not go, and I knew not to be And every time I lived up high, wanted to fly, knew not to try There's one place my mind ceased to be, my heart skipped a beat, my hands couldn't grasp CHORUS I don't know what to do, where to go In times like these I don't have money to burn, food to feed Those in need I don't have room to breathe, space to bleed, In my own head I wondered about so many things Ships on the sea, birds in the sky Love has touched my heart indeed Tore it apart, stitched it back up Hatred has burned a hole, left a scar Built up a wall I've hammered a thousand nails, built many strong homes Never my own Wisdom doesn't grow on tress Forged in the mind, tempered in the heart Will I ever get to see, whats ahead of me Before it falls behind Chorus Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

GIRL WITH A FLOWERED CROWN Don't want to work today She's to pretty to walk away Her long hair seams the pillow Knockout body here to stay Voice is like a sparrow Skin like the glassy sea Eyes will set you assunder Sultry feeling in your day Don't know how much time has passed Or if it's gonna last Been in this web so long Don't know where my life has gone Man may hunt the beast Think the lady is his to keep But he knows in the back of his bones She's been setting a trap for weeks You can hardly blame the lady Wearing the flowered crown She may pull on your puppet strings But astray she will not set us bound Marchin' off towards infinity Starin' off towards eternity The devil may laugh at the loss of love But not when she's around Not when She's around Music by: Mitchel Slade Lyrics by: Mitchel Slade – All rights Reserved – Copyright 2017 ©

A few words about our new album - FIRE IN THE RAIN....This is Mitchel Slade's third recorded album and the second with the Two Lions Band. This album was recorded at Prairie Sun Studios, in Cotati, Ca, with the incredibly talented, sound engineer, Travis Strain. It was recorded on a fantastic, Neve board; originally used by Pete Townshend, of the WHO. The Owner and Crew at Prairie Sun take great pride in keeping the most unique, legendary pieces of gear, wedded with the most up to date recording technology. It was a true pleasure. A final word about the title track; 'Like a Fire in the Rain'. The original, opening lyric was written as 'What is this darkness I've become', but it was decided to open up the recorded version with a 'hat tip' to the iconic line 'Hello darkness my old friend'. This amazing lyric, recorded by Simon and Garfunkel over 50 years ago; was a relative line then....and even more relative Today. I hope you enjoy our work, and please come see us at one of our live shows. The album is currently available for digital download at the following link: ( CD's available Oct. 30th) - The album will be available on all other platforms, i.e, itunes, google, amazon, etc. within 2 weeks. However, please try to purchase from band camp....We receive almost 100% of the royalties, as opposed to a fraction from the other retailers.
